Grants & R&D Programs Manager

(Deep-Tech & International Funding Programs)

We are a technology-driven industrial company developing advanced products and breakthrough technologies in photonics, optics, advanced manufacturing, and deep-tech domains. In parallel, the company is launching several highly innovative ventures in areas such as quantum light sources, integrated photonics, and deep-UV lasers.

We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Grants & R&D Programs Manager to lead international and Israeli R&D funding activities, build strategic collaborations, and manage complex technological programs from proposal stage through execution.

The role combines technical understanding, proposal writing, project management, consortium building, and budget oversight, working closely with company leadership, engineering teams, industrial partners, academia, and government agencies.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and lead funding opportunities from Israeli, European, American, and international programs, including:
  • Israel Innovation Authority
  • Horizon Europe
  • MAFAT / defense-related programs
  • US government and international funding frameworks
• Lead the preparation and submission of high-quality R&D grant proposals:
  • Technical and business writing
  • Work plans, milestones, and KPIs
  • Budget planning and financial coordination
  • Cross-functional coordination between internal and external stakeholders
• Manage awarded projects throughout their lifecycle:
  • Technical progress tracking
  • Reporting and compliance
  • Budget utilization and optimization
  • Coordination with funding agencies, finance teams, and partners
• Develop and manage collaborations and consortia with:
  • Industrial companies
  • Startups
  • Universities and research institutes in Israel and abroad

Work closely with engineering and R&D teams to identify innovative technologies and translate them into successful funding initiatives.

Requirements

Must Have

• 3+ years of experience in R&D grants, proposal writing, and program management.
• Proven experience with at least some of the following:
  • Israel Innovation Authority
  • Horizon Europe
  • MAFAT
  • US or international R&D funding programs
• Strong technical writing skills in English.
• Experience managing technical and financial reporting.
• High technical aptitude and ability to understand complex technologies.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Ability to lead multi-disciplinary and multi-partner projects.

Significant Advantage

• Background in photonics, optics, lasers, physics, or other deep-tech fields.
• Experience building international consortia and academic collaborations.
• MSc or PhD in a relevant technical field.
• Experience in startup or advanced technology environments.
